This year, IDFA invited visual artists Raul Balai (@raulbalai) and Ehsan Fardjadniya (@ehsan_fardjadniya) to create the festival’s campaign. Blending art and activism, the duo critically explored how cultural institutions, including IDFA, engage with diversity, inclusion and accountability. From an idyllic picnic scene disrupted by distant explosions to AI-generated symbolism, the campaign is a visual critique how these social issues are often marketed but not fully embraced.
