The long and rather painstaking process of bringing the SdKfz 261 chassis back from the brink. The side rails have been cut from the chassis frame as you can see. The inner plates of the side rails have been cut out and each section is receiving attention in turn. A view of the jig created to allow for the reassembly of the chassis exactly as it was prior to being taken apart. Outer walls are in place ex the internal chassis rail walls. These have been removed to allow us to repair and strengthen the chassis box section structure internally to preserve the external patina and originality.
