A loud explosion and a burst of flame split the night sky over Longmont on November 1, 1955. By the time rescuers and bystanders reached the flaming wreckage of the Mainliner Denver, all 44 people on board the aircraft were dead—including Daisie King, whose son was convicted of orchestrating a plot to kill his mother to gain his inheritance and cash out a life insurance policy he bought at the airport. It was the deadliest act of airline sabotage to date, and marked a major turning point for cou
