In March 2003, during the early days of the Iraq War, Al Jazeera broadcast footage showing American prisoners of war captured by Iraqi forces. The video featured several U.S. soldiers, including members of the 507th Maintenance Company, who were ambushed near the city of An Nasiriyah. The captives appeared frightened but alive, identifying themselves on camera as they spoke to reporters.
