Mar 16, 2022 · After turning on my computer, after the latest update, the windows 11 background has completely disappeared - changed to black. I cant change this. In settings, if I click on background it comes up with related settings e.g. contrast and help. The option to change the background has completely disappeared. Any ideas?

Feb 28, 2018 · Let's try Windows Recovery one more time. Restart your device by holding the power button and redo the Shift + Restart combo. If the blue blank screen persists, we need to use a recovery drive now to get to Advanced options. Here's a link for your reference. We look forward to your response.

Mar 6, 2016 · I have never seen this happen before. My PC is running fine, but the background screen gets stuck on this blue screen unless I intentionally go into the Personalization settings window. If I go to the Personalization window, then actual background comes back, but if I try restarting or clicking refresh nothing changes.

Dec 16, 2011 · When I boot into windows, it hangs for a very long time during "Preparing your desktop", then boots up with a blank blue screen with a mouse cursor. Ctr-Alt-Del brings up the options screen as usual, but if I click anything then nothing happens and it returns to the blue screen. (not the BSOD, by the way, just a blue background).

Sep 23, 2020 · At what seems to be at random, this blue/white F-icon window will appear in the Alt-Tab little windows. It doesn't appear to link to anything and I can only get rid of it by closing it while holding the Alt-tab view using the corner X. I cannot find anything on it via image or content searches and wonder if i have picked up malware?

Jan 26, 2020 · During the Windows 10 launch, after the windows starts but before the screen with the opening background image and before getting to the screen where one enters the password, the computer stops and goes to a blank blue screen. It stays there for a 3-4 seconds before moving to screen which has the time and date.

Aug 16, 2015 · When I start Windows 10 at any time, my lock screen appears a blank blue (theme colour). This doesn't affect my sign in process in any way. Everything works as normal, and manually locking the screen with Windows+L returns my wallpaper to normal, so what's causing the initial boot to miss my lockscreen? Thanks

May 30, 2022 · In Windows 8, a change was made that prevents screensavers from displaying over a transparent background. As a result of this change, any screensaver that attempts to do so will instead display your accent colour. This change was made due to incompatibility with Metro and UWP apps introduced in Windows 8 and 10, and remains in place to this day.
