Chelsea are advancing with their interest in RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons. Talks over personal terms for the 22-year-old are under way, with Simons understood to be open to a move to Stamford Bridge and the Bundesliga club aware of the Blues' interest.

The Sweden striker is the subject of a £64m agreement between Arsenal and two-in-a-row Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon. Across his two terms with the club, he has scored 97 goals and laid on 28 assists across 102 matches. It's a game-changing signing, and Arteta may be about to welcome more quality to his team.

Arsenal look set to spend just under £200million on six new signings with a marquee sale likely required if they are to make a move for Simons. Chelsea meanwhile, have seen their big departure already completed with Madueke, who could actually play a role in Simons' transfer, joining the Gunners as one of their four confirmed additions.
