It looks like tropical activity in the Atlantic will start to pick up over the next week or two, but for now, there aren’t any threats to Texas or even to the United States. Tropical storm Dexter has moved into the cold waters of the north Atlantic Ocean and considered “extra-tropical”.

Tropical Storm Dexter has formed in the Atlantic and is not a threat to the US, while two other areas of interest have a medium chance of development. The next named storms would be Erin and Fernand.

There’s a new tropical storm in the Atlantic Ocean, and two other disturbances that have a shot to get names as well. The National Hurricane Center named Tropical Storm Dexter late Sunday while it was several hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina. Dexter is headed away from the United States, however.
