Racist text messages invoking slavery raised alarm across the country this week after they were sent to Black men, women and students, including middle schoolers.
Black Americans in Houston and across the U.S. have reported receiving racist text messages from unknown numbers on the day after the election.
The texts sent to phones, not only in Connecticut but several other states also, include offensive and racist language from at least 25 different area codes.
Sheriff Michelle Cook said the agency has contacted the FBI. The messages have been seen in at least 10 states.
