The Ventura County Fire Department ignited a controlled burn in the Adams Canyon area north of Santa Paula on July 24, creating some smoky skies.

A brush fire started up Wednesday evening in an area of Santa Paula between the Santa Clara River and Highway 126. The blaze was first reported shortly before 7 p.m. in the 600 block of Acacia Road.

Upper Ojai, Santa Paula, Ventura and Fillmore residents may notice smoke from a prescribed burn planned this week north of Santa Paula.

SANTA PAULA, Calif. – Ventura County Firefighters had help from local city crews around 7 p.m. on Wednesday night when a fire sparked up near Acacia Road in Santa Paula.
