MANILA (Reuters) - The Philippines expects U.S. policy in the Indo-Pacific and support for its treaty ally amid South China Sea tensions to remain steady under Donald Trump, driven by bipartisan resolve in Washington, its ambassador to the U.S. said on Thursday.

Farm output in the Philippines declined by the most in nearly four years in the third quarter, the statistics agency said on Wednesday, a reading which does not bode well for economic growth in the period.

Philippine economic growth slowed sharply to 5.2 percent in the third quarter, from the revised 6.4 percent in the previous quarter and 6 percent last year, as typhoons took their toll on agricultural output and infrastructure development.
