CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine did his part Monday to clear a path for a new domed stadium to be built for the Cleveland Browns in suburban Brook Park by budgeting $600 million from the state’s unclaimed property fund to cover a fourth of the cost.

Of the substantial 67 state budget provisions Gov. Mike DeWine vetoed, three protected his successors’ authority. DeWine vetoed three provisions to protect governors’ powers in Ohio: one that would limit which flags could be hung on state-owned buildings and two provisions regarding the next biennial budget cycle.
