Kent County Council says drains on minor roads are cleaned once every one to three years depending on risk factors including whether the areas are a known flooding zone. Drains on high speed roads are then checked once annually between April and September.
The Flood Watch has been extended until 10 p.m. Many of these areas are still recovering from bouts of flash flooding over the weekend. Allegheny, Greene, Fayette, Washington, Westmoreland along with Garrett, Monongalia, and Preston counties are included in the watch.
Fire officials said 10 people were rescued from trees after the deadly flooding early Thursday on the city's northeast side.
SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - Flash flooding caused multiple crashes and led to multiple water rescue operations in Sumner and Robertson counties Sunday night, according to Smokey Barn News. SBN reports multiple vehicles were stranded in the 700 block of Bowling Branch Road due to flooding. There are some reports of people trapped in the vehicles.
While a stalling storm system brings slow moving storms to the region, there is a heightened risk of flash flooding.

“Flash flooding occurred in the City of Wheeling and in Ohio County last night,” the Wheeling-OhioCounty EMA said in a Facebook post. “There is extensive damage to roads and bridges. Many roads are closed. People have lost their homes from this flooding.”
