Anthony and Howard were announced Saturday as members of the Class of 2025, as was the 2008 U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team that they played on — dubbed the “Redeem Team,” the one that captured gold at the Beijing Games and started a still-going run of five consecutive Olympic titles and counting for USA Basketball’s men’s program.

Dwight Howard was one of the players who was selected to the Hall of Fame. The former number-one overall pick gets the honor after playing for seven different teams over the course of his career, taking home one championship.

Former NBA superstars Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and WNBA legend Sue Bird headline the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame class announced on Saturday. The other members elected include Maya Moore, Billy Donovan, Sylvia Fowles, referee Danny Crawford, Miami Heat governor Micky Arison and the 2008 USA Olympic men's basketball team.
