BRECKSVILLE, Ohio– The Cuyahoga Valley National Park has reopened 3.3 miles of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail from Lock 29 Trailhead in Peninsula to Hunt House Trailhead in Cuyahoga Falls.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will officially designate the Cuyahoga River a state water trail in Cuyahoga Falls on Friday, Oct. 4.

The public would get access to the lake at nearly a dozen public access points. Most of the shoreline in Cuyahoga County is privately owned.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports the designation will make the Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) River Ohio’s 13th state water trail.
