MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – University of Minnesota infectious disease expert Doctor Michael Osterholm does not support President Trump’s plan to withdraw the U-S from the World Health Organization. Osterholm says, “From a global public health perspective and specifically our health here in the United States, this is a public health disaster.”

The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers women's hockey team has a busy weekend ahead with their first Field Trip Day, a sold out home game at Ridder, followed by an outdoor game at Valleyfair Amusement Park.

The University of Minnesota is asking for $235 million from state taxpayers for the 2025-26 school year as part of its $5 billion budget.

The University of Minnesota cheer squad also took home a national championship, the team’s first in its history. Cheerleading squads actually originated at the University of Minnesota in 1898. And the team still uses that original chant: “Ski-U-Mah!”

There are a new crop of 20-somethings with an impressive new title. They are the Forbes' 30 Under 30, including the likes of Caitlyn Clark. One of those other impressive young people happens to work at the University of Minnesota.

The University of Minnesota's spirit squad won two national titles over the weekend, proving for a second consecutive year that the team is a force to be reckoned with. In a first for the program, the U of M won the title in the small coed game day cheer category.

MLK Day is a federal holiday, so banks including U.S Bank, Wells Fargo and Huntington Bank will be closed. However, many ATMs will still be open. Regular pickups will take place in both Minneapolis and St. Paul on Monday.

Marshall High School’s Tiger Cafe is experiencing an ample amount of success, which provides internship and work experience for the school’s special education and English-learner students. The two departments have also created other opportunities with Southwest Minnesota State University and the Practical Assessment Exploration System Lab at the middle school.

Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards linked up with former Colorado Buffaloes two-way sensation and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter after the Wolves' win in Dallas on Wednesday night. Edwards gave Hunter his AE1 shoes and his signed jersey, both of which he had worn in the game.
