The Oklahoma Sooners get the automatic bid to the NCAA softball tournament by virtue of their regular-season SEC title after rain washed out the tourney finale against Texas A&M.

The NCAA Tournament brackets will be decided with Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M awaiting their postseason fates.

The University of Oklahoma’s softball team and Texas A&M’s softball team both shared top honors Saturday after wet weather led to the SEC championship game to be canceled.

The 2025 SEC Softball Tournament has ended rather unceremoniously due to inclement weather in Athens, Georgia. The conference canceled the championship game and declared Oklahoma and Texas A&M co-champions.

Oklahoma and Texas A&M will play for the SEC Tournament title, with the winner potentially taking home the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament as well. The top-seeded Sooners had to erase a 6-1 deficit on Friday, but Gabbie Garcia walked off Arkansas to punch OU’s ticket to the title game.

Texas A&M throttled the Longhorns, 14-2, in five innings on Friday at Jack Turner Softball Stadium in Athens, Ga. The Aggies will face Oklahoma in the title game on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT.
