LONDON -- British rock band The Who are to say their final goodbye to North America this summer. Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend confirmed Thursday that they will perform hits from six-decade career during "The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour," named after the band’s 1971 hit.

Legendary rock band The Who announced their final tour of North America on Thursday, saying after six decades of making music, all good things must come to end.

The Who didn’t really gain much popularity in the U.S. until 1969, when they released the album “Tommy” and played at Woodstock. By the time they released “Who’s Next” in 1971, they were one of the biggest bands in the world, filling stadiums.
