A city in Georgia is mourning the loss of a lineman after a workplace injury. On Wednesday, Nov. 13, lineman Eric Weems died and another, Trent Granger, was injured while working on a project in Griffin, Ga., in the morning hours, according to a Facebook post by city officials.

Eric Weems died after an accident where the equipment used in the power project failed, according to Griffin Police.

Back in October 2020, the City of Griffin posted a video on social media of Weems sharing why he loves being a lineman in his own words. “I really do love my job. I get to go out and do what I love,” Weems told a cameraperson.
