Lewis Hamilton finds himself up against a “younger generation” of drivers better equipped to excel in the current Formula 1 cars. This is the verdict cast by former F1 driver Giedo van der Garde, who thus warns Hamilton that this is currently “a problem he can’t get out of” after a mixed start to life as a Ferrari driver.

Martin Brundle has noted how Lewis Hamilton ’s post-race interviews are a “very hard watch” at the moment given his early-season F1 struggles at Ferrari.

Back in 2022, F1 froze each power unit manufacturer's engines, which means that Ferrari are unable to make changes to help Hamilton. As a result, the Brit will instead have to change his driving style to suit the engine, which could involve braking earlier to then get back on the power, just like Leclerc seems to do.
