ERCOT monitoring this winter's strongest cold snap but expects normal grid conditions
The riskiest period for the grid this week is in the hour from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. each day, when Texans are starting their days but before the sun is high enough to produce solar power. Once the sun rises about 7:30 a.m., the state’s solar farms begin stepping in to carry the brunt of demand.
