It's been months since the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. While both teams have been trying to move on from the trade, some things aren't so easily forgotten, and former Dallas city Mayor Tom Leppert says that the damage caused by Dallas Mavericks ownership will linger for years to come.

Luka Doncic wasn't expected to finish the 2024-25 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Dallas Mavericks fans were fond of the 6-foot-6 Slovenian phenom during his 6.5-year tenure with the organization.

According to The Athletic's Jovan Buha, the Lakers are considering Nic Claxton alongside Daniel Gafford, a former teammate of Doncic, as realistic center options. ESPN's Tim MacMahon also floated Gafford as a hypothetical Lakers target on The Hoop Collective podcast.
