Roughly 100 people gathered in a snowstorm near the east entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park on Monday morning to protest a federal hiring freeze that could imperil park operations.

Unlike many Eastern states, Colorado has a growing moose population. In fact, there are so many moose in the park that officials are concerned about vegetation.
