Moscow: Russia has formed a new Quad like the US. It has been named the Afghanistan Quad. Its aim is to work with the powerful countries of the region on the future of Afghanistan. Now Russia wants India to join this Afghanistan Quad.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri visits Beijing for high-level talks with Chinese officials, strengthening India-China relations.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Monday. Wang Yi noted that India and China have implemented the important consensus reached by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping during their meeting held in Russia's Kazan last year.

India and China are expected to touch upon several issues at the talks, including ways to de-escalate the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh and resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

Beijing: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri Monday called on Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and discussed issues of bilateral interest. Misri is here on a two-day visit for talks with Chinese officials to improve India-China relations.

India and China should meet each other halfway and commit themselves to mutual understanding rather than mutual suspicion, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday as he met Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri here.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said the improvement in China-India relations is in the fundamental interests of the two countries and their people.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Monday held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, with the latter stating that China and India should seize the opportunity to meet each other halfway.

During Misri’s visit, discussions are expected to address the de-escalation of tensions along the LAC, resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, and measures to facilitate people-to-people exchanges.
