Coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes extended an offer to class of 2026 linebacker Xavier Griffin, a five-star recruit who recently decommitted from the USC Trojans. Griffin is the highest-ranked linebacker pros in his class.

Four-star linebacker Xavier Griffin, the No. 29 overall recruit in the 2026 ESPN 300, has decommitted from USC's top-ranked class, sources told ESPN.

Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports reported that 5-star linebacker Xavier Griffin had officially decommitted from USC. He had committed to the Trojans in July 2024. Fawcett then reported that Griffin has scheduled official visits at Ohio State, Alabama, Texas and Florida State.
