Ozempic (semaglutide) is a well-known prescription drug that’s used to treat blood sugar of people with type 2 diabetes, has been hailed for its many benefits including weight loss and lowering risk of many chronic diseases.

Excitement is building around a new weight loss drug, CagriSema, which is expected to surpass the effects of popular drugs Ozempic and Wegovy. Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of both, recently shared that CagriSema may lead to 10 percent more weight loss than Wegovy.

While plenty of people rave about the weight loss results you can get from drugs like Ozempic, there’s also been a ton of chatter over the fact that these meds are really expensive. These drugs have also been in and out of shortage, making it tough to get your hands on Ozempic and similar medications—if you can afford it.
