On Monday, slugger Tyler O'Neill decided that he would not be exercising the opt-out clause in his contract. The new MLB free agency period is technically open, but players are not able to sign for another few days while organizations put the final touch on the 2025 season.

While Tyler Shough had some nice moments on Sunday, he might need to start helping the Saints get wins in order to ensure his spot as their starting QB going into 2026.
