Detroit — Police in the city are mourning the loss of a fellow officer who was killed in an off-duty crash on the east side of Detroit around midnight on Saturday and are looking for a hit-and-run driver.

DETROIT, MI – A Detroit police officer finished his shift and was headed home when he was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s East Side. Officer Cameron Richardson died in a collision just after midnight Sunday, Jan. 5, near Hoover and Greiner streets, Detroit Interim Police Chief Todd Bettison said.
