Manager Peter Vermes and Sporting KC parted ways on Monday morning following the team’s 0-5-1 start to the season. It came hours after the KC Cauldron and South Stands Supporters Club released a statement calling on Vermes to resign. It’s an end of the era in Kansas City soccer and Major League Soccer.

The 58-year-old will also vacate his role as chief soccer officer while Kerry Zavagnin will be Sporting's interim head coach.
