Nebraska is one win away from successful defending its Big Ten Baseball Tournament title from a year ago. The 8-seed Nebraska beat the 9-seed Penn State in the semifinals at Charles Schwab Field Saturday,

The Huskers entered Saturday with an unexpected doubleheader. Nebraska did not falter in the challenge, advancing to the Big Ten Championship.

Penn State got their first hit off Nebraska starter Tucker Timmerman in the third inning when Derek Cease shot a single up the middle. Three batters later, Jesse Jaconski smoked a double in the leftfield gap to score Cease. That made it 2-1 Cornhuskers.
