The 49ers surprisingly signed veteran center Matt Hennessy off the Atlanta Falcons practice squad to a two-year deal this week. On Friday, offensive line coach Chris Foerster was asked about Hennessy.

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Thursday that left tackle Trent Williams is done for the season and has been placed on Injured Reserve.

To replace the open roster spot left by Williams' move to IR, the 49ers signed offensive lineman Matt Hennessy to a two-year contract. Hennessy has appeared in 45 games over the last four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and started all 17 games for Atlanta in 2021 at center.
