The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission denied a rulemaking hearing petition by livestock organizations to pause the state's second release of wolves, which is expected to take place soon. The commission voted 10-1 to deny the petition after hearing from nearly 80 people during the public comment period at its meeting Wednesday in Denver.

The request to temporarily halt the program came as another 10-15 wolves are set to be released in the coming weeks on the Western Slope.

The CPW Commission gathered on Wednesday to vote on a petition filed by ranchers to pause wolf reintroduction. The commission voted 10-1 Wednesday night to deny the petition.
