Participants will experience the art and traditions of maple sugaring ... on a self-paced tour to observe how sugar is tapped from maple trees and reduced to syrup in a wood-burning evaporator.

In addition to their lovely fall foliage, sugar maple (acer saccharum) is a critically important tree to the ecology of our forests, as well as to our regional Northern Appalachian heritage.
