In the heart of Utah’s Uinta Mountains, a team of scientists is re-creating historical pictures to study how much, and how quickly, ecosystems are changing.

Lynn Simmons was assisting in the creation of this Public Land Survey System map of a 36-square-mile parcel in the Uinta Mountains at the time of his disappearance in 1940.

In Utah, meteorologists warned of heavy snow in the Wasatch Mountains south of I-80, the Central Mountains, Southern Mountains and the Western Uinta Mountains, including along some interstates.
