BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Boulder Falls, a popular waterfall area off Highway 119 in Boulder Canyon, is closed after a rockslide damaged the trail, the city's parks department said.

Federal land managers are advising hikers to be careful around a popular hiking and swimming spot in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument after a rockfall Wednesday.

The falls are located 11 miles west of Boulder between the city and Nederland. But for the foreseeable future, hikers will have to find a different waterfall to chase.
