Indian forest officials were still hunting a single-tusked elephant Monday after the animal tore through villages in Jharkhand state and killed 22 people since Jan. 1, authorities and residents said.

Over 300 personnel are trying to locate the animal, but the elephant keeps slipping away into the forest.
