A new master plan submitted by Copper Mountain Resort aims to expand ski terrain and add lifts to “meet the ever-growing demand for developed recreational skiing.”

Copper Mountain Report is looking to build the highest lift in North America while adding 500 acres to their ski area on the eastern face of Jaques Peak as well as the east and north faces of Rose Mountain.

In a recently published master plan looking ahead to the next decade, one of Colorado's most popular ski resorts envisions a new "bucket list experience."

In 2024, Denver Business Journal research showed that Copper Mountain is the seventh-largest resort in the state by skiable area. The newly approved expansion would increase Copper Mountain Resort’s skiable acreage from 2,538 to approximately 3,038, making it Colorado's sixth-largest resort.

A woman was injured after reportedly falling at a Colorado ski resort. According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at Ski Cooper. Deputies weren’t able to confirm much, but they did say the woman fell from a ski lift.

Colorado's high country is already renowned for its world-class skiing, but one resort might be about to get a whole lot bigger. Copper Mountain has announced plans to expand by more than 500 acres and add several new lifts.
