Heavy snow and extreme cold in Boston weather forecast this weekend, as monster storm impacts U.S.
The weather forecast shows a major winter storm could hit Boston this weekend with heavy snow.
The arctic cold will set the stage for the winter storm and last for at least the next week. We are talking about 7 + days where temperatures will not climb above freezing. Generally, low temperatures will be in the single digits and teens and high temperatures will be in the teens and 20s.
Unprotected skin in these conditions can cause frostbite and hypothermia in as little as 30 minutes, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday and Monday mornings will bring the coldest temperatures with lows in the teens and wind chills in the single digits to below zero. There may be a brief window for snowfall early Sunday, but drier air will be pushing in and precipitation will be coming to an end around midday Sunday.
Weather Impact Alert days have been issued from Friday to Monday morning as significant cold air and snowfall is headed our way.
