BOULDER, Colo. — Even though the Sundance Film Festival won’t come to Boulder until 2027, some local hotels are already getting booking requests from guests eager to secure a spot.

The Sundance Film Festival is Boulder bound, leaving its home of four decades in Park City, Utah, for a new chapter in neighboring Colorado.

Gov. Polis and state legislators had been working since last year to shore up incentives for the event, gathering $35 million to dangle in front of festival leaders.

Less than one year ago, the Sundance Institute announced it was considering new locations for the festival after its current contract with Park City/Salt Lake City ended in 2026.
