Apple plans to launch a low-cost MacBook using the iPhone 16 Pro’s A18 Pro chip instead of its M-series silicon, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says.

In a first for Apple, the company is apparently planning to use an iPhone SoC to power a MacBook. The upcoming laptop will use A18 Pro, which powers the iPhone 16’s higher-end models, the Pro and Pro Max. Apple hasn’t confirmed the new, low-cost MacBook, so the usual grain of salt applies.

Apple is reportedly working on a cheaper MacBook model that would be powered by an A18 Pro chip, the same silicon that powers the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.
