After placing a $5 bet on Sunday at the Virgin River Casino in Mesquite, Nevada, one lucky Utah resident hit a jackpot of over $12 million.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A lucky player left Mesquite, Nevada over the holiday weekend a multi-millionaire. The player turned a $5 bet into a nearly $12.4 million jackpot at Virgin River Casino & Lodge on Sunday, Feb. 16, according to a spokesperson.

A gambler bet $5 on a slot machine in Nevada and ended up walking away with millions. The out-of-town visitor sat at a Megabucks slot machine at the Virgin River Casino & Lodge in Mesquite, the casino said in a release. The player then bet $5 on the machine, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen.
