Charlie Woods is not in the field to defend his title this week at one of the South Florida PGA's annual "Junior Major" tournaments. Woods, a rising junior and son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, is the reigning champion of the South Florida PGA Junior Cup after winning last year's event at the BallenIsles East Course in Palm Beach Gardens.

As he recovers from a ruptured Achilles, 15-time major winning golfer Tiger Woods has found other ways to be around the sport. Woods announced in March that he had ruptured his left Achilles during training. While he teased a Master’s comeback in an April Fools’ joke, there is no clear answer on when he will return.
