Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz reached the French Open final after Lorenzo Musetti retired from their semifinal early in the fourth set. Alcaraz was leading 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-0, 2-0 when the eighth-seeded Italian had to stop playing on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Early on, Musetti had the advantage after taking the first set, 6-4, as the Italian showed his class as he went toe-to-toe with the world No. 2. The two stayed on serve until Musetti finally got a late break and consolidated it to take the first set and an early lead in the match.

Alcaraz gets the chance to defend his title after roaring back tactically against Musetti, who then succumbed to an injury.
