Johni Broome was a college basketball headliner at Auburn, the Associated Press first-team All-American an undeniable force powering the Tigers to the Final Four. His NBA journey is coming with less fanfare.

With the 35th pick of the Second Round of the 2025 NBA Draft, Auburn Tigers forward Johni Broome has been selected by the Philadelphia 76ers. Last season, Broome was named The Sporting News Men's College Basketball Player of the Year after helping lead the Tigers reach the Final Four.

“I talked to them at the combine, and we had a very good talk,” Broome said during a Thursday night appearance on SiriusXM. “Just how my schedule was, I wasn’t able to get out there (for a workout). But it’s a good group. I think I’m in a good situation. I walk into a very good team that I can help win games and get in the playoffs.”
