United and JetBlue have announced a Blue Sky partnership. This will let passengers book flights for both carriers on each other’s websites and extend frequent-flyer redemption options. United will also return to JFK International Airport for the first time in 10 years.

Two major U.S. airlines are joining forces in a blockbuster partnership. United Airlines will team up with JetBlue in a new alliance they are calling "Blue Sky," the carriers announced Thursday.

The two airlines announced a new loyalty collaboration called Blue Sky, which will allow United’s MileagePlus members and JetBlue’s TrueBlue members to earn and redeem points and miles on “most” flights operated by the other airline.

JetBlue Airways and United Airlines unveiled on Thursday plans for a consumer collaboration that allows travelers to book flights on both carriers' websites, while interchangeably earning and using points in their frequent flyer programs.
