The former superintendent of Fort Bend Independent School District, Christie Whitbeck, dropped her defamation claim against two current trustees and one former trustee Friday, according to a release from the school district.

The former leader of the Houston-area school district is still suing the district as well as three current or former trustees for breach of contract.

Former Fort Bend ISD Superintendent Christie Whitbeck dropped one of two claims against the district and several board members in her lawsuit filed in December, according to a district news release.

Dr. Whitbeck maintains the district and board members violated her voluntary resignation agreement by making disparaging remarks about her after she left FBISD.
