The Dallas Cowboys and three-time Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott underwent their second divorce in as many seasons when they granted his release Tuesday. Elliott asked to be let go in an effort to potentially sign with a playoff team.

The Cowboys duo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott went from Boyz II Men in the organization, but the run has reached it’s conclusion.

After reuniting with the 29-year-old Elliott on a one-year deal this past April, the Cowboys will now enter the new year and Sunday’s season finale against the Washington Commanders without the nine-year veteran following a lackluster 2024 campaign for both parties.
