Outstanding views and staff informative and friendly. We went late afternoon and not too busy. Was able to get a great view down and up. We took some pictures but in person is so much better.Full review by lapaige27

I can’t say they didn’t warn us on the website. It said if we were booking during the holiday week, there could be a one and a half to two hour wait even though we booked the tram for the 5 PM block …Full review by JeanneV605
Coming from Albuquerque, which takes the least amount of time - driving up to Sandia Crest and taking in the view or driving to the Tram, parking, waiting in line and taking the tram to the top? We won't be doing any hiking or eating at restaurants. Sounds like the views from both places are amazing

Since waits are long during the Balloon Fiesta is it allowed to show up earlier to my reserved slot and get in line? Can I show up at 12pm and start waiting for my 1pm slot since the wait can be 1-2 hours?

I wasn't there during Balloon fest, but yes I believe you can show up ahead of your reservation time. When I visited, an employee at the front asked us or reservation time and pointed at our designated line to wait in. There was another line already forming for a different reservation time.
From the website: Service animals (as defined by the US Department of Justice) are permitted on the tramway. All other pets are not allowed on the tramway.
