Getting to the Skyride is very easy--if you arrive by cruise ship, the walk to the ride is no more than 5-7 minutes. There are only a few steps to get to the gondola at the bottom. At the top, there is an easy walk to a viewing platform BUT if you want to go down to the restaurant and shops there are about 3 levels of stairs but they aren't difficult to traverse. There is no set schedule to the ride so you can rest up at the top, have a "cold one" and then return to the bottom at your leisure.
The website seems to only talk about the ride going up. When you are ready to return, is the ride down included or do we have to find another way (taxi, etc)

The ticket we had was a round trip. You can stay at the top as long as you like. There is a restaurant, bar, and several shops up there along with restrooms.

It is a short 5-7 minute walk from the pier to the skyride. Suggest you get tickets at the ride (cheaper) and available. If you plan on going into town, they will gladly call a cab for you (we did it). You hail an open air bus/truck on main street in town back to the ship--cost about $5/person.
