Oscar Escobar, MD, is a pediatric endocrinologist and is certified in pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is director of the growth program at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Escobar received his medical degree from the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, and completed his residency at Hospital Universitario del Valle in Cali, Colombia and Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. He completed fellowships in pediatric endocrinology both at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, La., and Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Dr. Escobar lives with his wife, a research nurse at UPMC Children’s. He has two daughters: one is an environmental engineer and the other is in medical school.
