We had an amazing time snowtubing! We booked the 9am slot which was perfect. Easy to get to just be careful on the roads as it’s a windy road all the way up the mountain.Full review by jm6234

We didn’t ski but wish we would have over Eldora. The snow tubing was super fun for all ages. The staff is nice and accommodating! Reasonably priced and easy website. Thanks for a fun day.Full review by Travel35322450815

yes we had a midsized car. if they had recent snow I would be careful the road is pretty winding getting to the area. they have a upper and lower lot and we parked in the lower both times and made it up but some did struggle.(just don't stop and slow down half way up)

Hi Tukeya! 4WD is always recommended when traveling in the mountains in winter across all of Colorado. It makes following Colorado's traction laws much easier, and while a 4WD vehicle may be more expensive to rent, it will be a big cost savings over a tow truck or an accident. In addition to road conditions, comfortability driving in snow and winter weather has a big impact on one's ability to get up there.

I believe you can fish, hike and bike along the lake but I don't think you can kayak/canoe. There is a campground located at the base of Mount Evans with a limited number of tent sites. I don't know if it's first-come, first-served. You can call the Clear Creek Ranger District at (303)-567-2901 for information. Also keep in mind it is in bear country. You can call Reserve America at (801)-226-3564 for a reservation The campground is now closed for the season, opening June 8/2017. (Arrival dates may be available earlier than the online reservation window per Reserve America web site). It is a beautiful area...enjoy. The Mount Evans Scenic Byway is a nice drive but acclimate to the altitude for a day or so first.
